2 Bankers Remanded In Prison For Allegedly Stealing N2.5 Million

A Chief Magistrate Coirt in Akure, Ondo State has remanded two bankers, Kasali Fajana and Ajayi Dauda in Olokuta Prison for their involvement in the theft of N2.5 million set aside for the payment salaries of some local government workers in Akoko area of the state.

Prosecuting counsel, Sunday Adejuwon, told the court that the two accused, together with others now at large, broke the windscreen of a car and stole the money at Arigidi Oke Agbe Road in the Ondo State Magisterial District, an offence contrary to Sections 6(6) and 1 of the Robbery and Firearm (Special Provision Act) Cap R 11 laws of the Federation of Nigeria 2004.

Adejuwon appealed to the court to remand both suspects in prison custody in order for him to send the duplicate case file to the Ministry of Justice.

The magistrate, Mr. Sunday Adeduro, ruled that the two bankers be remanded in the prison custody, adjourning the case to Wednesday, January 7, 2015.
