This tragic event was happening a day before the graduation ceremony of a Detroit Police Academy on Friday, October 17, 2014 which was eventually marked amidst heavy hearts.

The incident left about four people with injuries, Detroit police chief, James Craig said.

Information divulged through the late victim’s aunt said Williams’ 40-year old father whose condition is critical is said to be currently receiving care at a nearby hospital together with her 36-year-old mother.

According to police, an altercation happened outside nearby Detroit Denby High School, where one person was wounded before the parties involved went to Hayes and Mogul. Four others were shot at the second location.

Craig added that police are  speculating a social media for the origin of the dispute.

According to Myfoxdetroit.com reports, police are focusing on six suspects including four females and two males. Two suspects, a male and female are in custody, as well as one vehicle.

“The shooting started at Denby and it was one victim,” Craig said. “(Police) responded and we got a report of shots fired in this block of Mogul. We found four victims of the shooting including a toddler that succumbed to her injuries.

“We concluded that the individuals responsible are gang members.”

While observing the fight, William’s father  “felt his daughters may have been in some sort of danger and responded by shooting one person at the scene,” Craig said.

He further said, “After the first shooting, a second individual took out a machine gun and began to fire repeatedly, striking Amiracle and her three family members.”

Craig also revealed that at about 3 a.m. on Friday, October 17, 2014, two suspects were in the police custody which included: the alleged second shooter, a 23-year-old black male, and the alleged driver of a getaway vehicle who had been shot in the incident.

Meanwhile, he added that the alleged shooter had an outstanding warrant for his arrest for a felony charge in Virginia. At least one of the men has been involved in local gangs.

Although the Detroit Police Department is still investigating the incident, a TEC-9 machine gun has so far been recovered.

The police official maintained that, “The shooting was a decision made by a coward, once again, another coward that goes out and engages in senseless violence.

“We will continue our focus on eradicating violence, and certainly dismantling these street gangs here in Detroit.”
