30-Man Robbery Gang Invade Bank In Ekiti

A deadly 30-man armed robbery gang on Friday, October 31, 2014 stormed an unnamed new generation bank in Ifaki Ekiti, Idi Osi Local Government Area of Ekiti State, robbing it of an undisclosed amount of money.

Vanguard reports that the hoodlums, who arrived on motorcycles had had four earlier successful hits on banks in the last five years leading to the closure of several banks in Ado Ekiti and other parts of the state.

It was gatherd that the bandits had earlier attacked a police station which is not too far from the bank before proceeding to rib the bank.

The robbers who were armed to the teeth arrived the bank around 10:30 am shooting sporadically to scare away both staff and customers in the bank before proceeding to ask the accountant to open the bank vault.

Their charge to the vault was cut short as police operatives arrived the scene, causing the robbers to flee in different directions.
