32 Feared Dead In A Fresh Attack By Fulani Herdsmen In Nasarawa

At least 32 persons were feared dead in the late hours of Sunday, November 9, 2014, during a attack by some hoodlums suspected to be Fulani herdsmen at Arikya-Soni  in Lafia East Development Area of Nasarawa State.

Some Eggon farmers returning from their farm were reportedly ambushed by assailants who were said to be have used AK 47 rifles during the attack which took place at about 3pm leaving scores dead while the attackers carted away nine motorcycles belonging to the deceased villagers.

It was learnt that those who were killed in the attack were from Umme, Arugbadu and Bakyano villages all in Nasarawa Eggon Local Government Area.

Their bodies were said to have been recovered and buried at Umme, amid wailing from family members and sympathisers, according to Punch reports.

One of the survivors of the incident from Arugbadu village, identified as Habibu Mohammed had on Sunday, November 9, 2014, disclosed in an interview with newsmen in Rugbadu that he was returning from in the company of his parents when the hoodlums struck and started shooting sporadically at  some farmers and killing most of them in the process.
