17-year old Nat had other ideas,he wrecked the new car his dad just got for him on a road close to their house in Angus, Scotland

Although the boy sustained no injury from the accident, his father was not happy about it.

Mr Clark auctioned the car to shame his son by putting it up for just 1 penny on auction site

A FATHER has put his son's wrecked car up for sale on Gumtree for a penny - as a warning to young drivers not to gamble with their lives. Steve Clark shelled out £2000 for the Honda Civic, which his son, Nat, totalled just a week after passing his test. Nat, 17, rolled the 1.4 motor on a bend near his home in Monifieth, Angus. Nat walked away from the wreck with no physical injuries but suffered severely dented pride after his exasperated dad publicly berated him. "It seems his ambition outweighed his talent on this occasion," wrote Steve.

The advert which shows picture of the wrecked car says:

‘Due to son thinking he’s Colin McRae I now have a 2000 Honda Civic 1.4 breaking for spares.

‘He talked the talk, but certainly didn’t walk the walk (he will be walking now, for a long time.’
