The thought of saying goodbye to a dear one often comes very emotional but this 2-year-old boy’s farewell to his best friend will surely leave anyone quite teary.
Deacon Ross’s favourite day is Friday because that’s the day when he sees his best friend O’Dee (real name Oladele Olurunrinu) who is their local garbage man.
Little Ross from East Dallas practically worships his best friend and could not stand the pain of losing him.
His mum, Summer Ross said, “He’s really just struck up this friendship with O’Dee. Looks forward to Fridays.
“I think this is Deacon’s first friend [where] he really understands what friendship is.”
His big sister, Ada Grace Ross said, “Well, it’s our last day seeing my brother’s best friend, O’Dee.”
On the fateful day, the family had planned a party before O’Dee came for the very last time to collect the family’s garbage for recycling.
On sighting him, little Ross screamed, “O’Dee! Him coming! Him coming, him coming. Collect our garbage!”
Ross’ mum is expecting a baby and the family had to move to a bigger house which is off O’Dee’s garbage route.
“I don’t think he really understands that this could be the last time that he sees O’Dee,” said Ross mum.
And that’s why his mom went to the effort of making personalized gift bags for the party and taking her children out for photos with their weekly visitor, to honor Deacon’s first friendship, according to ABC News.
She said, “I was teary the whole time. Just trying to relish the moment.”
O’Dee said, “I’m gonna miss them, too.”
Now the woman is thinking of naming Deacon’s new brother after his first best friend: O’Dee.
