Nollywood actress, Bimbo Akintola will be playing the role of a Nigerian legend in an upcoming movie, 93 Days. Bimbo Akintola will be playing the role of late Dr. Stella Ameyo Adadevoh in the Steve Gukas directed movie.
Adadevoh was the Nigerian physician who helped curbed the spread of the Ebola virus by insisting that the Liberian who brought the virus into the country, Patrick Sawyer was placed on quarantine despite pressure from various quarters. By that action, Dr. Adadevoh also contracted the virus which led to her death on the afternoon of August 19, 2014.

The movie, 93 days will tell the compelling human story of bravery and dedication with a focus on Nigeria’s Ebola heroes.

Here’s the synopsis of the movie:
93 days tells the true life story of the men and women who risked their lives and made sacrifices to save us all from the consequences of an outbreak of the deadly Ebola virus in Nigeria.
When Patrick Sawyer a Liberian American collapses upon arrival at the Muritala Mohammed International airport, Lagos Nigeria. He is taken to First Consultant Hospital, where he is admitted with fever like symptoms.
Against his denials of contact with any Ebola victim in Liberia, the team at first consultant led by Dr. Ameyo Adadevoh quickly deduce there is more to his case than malaria. Their vigilance leads to an early detection that Mr Sawyer indeed had the Ebola Virus disease. Now it’s a race against time to contain a deadly disease from breaking out and infecting an entire city population and beginning what could be the biggest deadly disease outbreak the world has ever known.
The hospital institutes strict barrier nursing and notify the appropriate authorities. The Lagos state government and subsequently the federal go into overdrive.
