#BringBackOurGirls Group Says It Would Sue CAN President Oritsejafor Over $9.3 Million Arms Deal

Must read

The #BringBackOurGirls campaign group has said that it would sue the President of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor and the Federal Government over the $9.3 million found in a private jet arriving South Africa from Nigeria earlier this month.

“This is taxpayer’s money,” a representative of the group told Vanguard, Monday, September 29, 2014 at the group’s sit-out in Abuja.

“Wee need more pressure more than ever; this is tax payers money, we must speak up any time an injustice is done especially when it is about infiltration of arms because that is what brought us here. There is need for a louder cry about this because quietly people are forgetting about the $9.3 million, it will continue if we don’t do anything.

“By next week you will have something different, we are working with our lawyers to sue Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor and the Federal Government,” the representative concluded.

#BringBackOurGirls is an advocacy group led by former World Bank Vice President, Oby Ezekwesili aimed at calling for action to rescue Chibok schoolgirls who were kidnapped by Islamist terrorists who invaded their school dormitory in the night. The kidnap of the schoolgirls had created a global action to fight the terrorist group.

Meanwhile, Oritsejafor has addressed the scandal for the first time publicly, Monday. The CAN president addressing an executive council of the association admitted owning he jet in question, but denied knowledge of the alleged arms deal or the trip to South Africa.
