“Offer to God thanksgiving, and pay your vows to the Most High.” – Psalms 50:14 NKJV
It’s an instruction! Offer to God thanksgiving! But we should get to the point where we give thanks not because we were instructed to, but because we have a revelation of why we should and the power of same. There’s nothing more powerful than when our actions are based on revelations.
The Bible says that we were created for the glory of God (Isaiah 43:7). How do we glorify Him? Psalm 50:23 says, “Whoever offers praise glorifies Me; and to him who orders his conduct aright I will show the salvation of God.” Through praise and thanksgiving God is glorified. Hallelujah! And He desires nothing more than to be glorified. The man who glorifies God continually will enjoy the best of heaven! He will enjoy supernatural support all the days of his life!
And it doesn’t cost much! If you have a mouth then you can praise Him! If you can move your body, then you can dance to Him! Praise Him in the morning, at noon and in the night! Hebrews 13:15 says, “Therefore by Him let us continually offer the sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to His name.” Let everything that has breath praise the Lord; for the Lord is good and His mercies endure forever!
