David and Mindi Rice invited a 24-year-old female friend, whose name has not been released, to their home in Zephyrhills in Pasco County, Florida.
The Rices, both 29, allegedly injected themselves with prescription drugs, and the threesome had sex before falling asleep, Tampa Bay Times reported.
The following morning Mindi Rice said she awoke to her husband attempting to have sex again with the woman, Pasco County sheriff’s deputies said.
The sight sent her into a jealous rage and she grabbed a gun. She threatened to shoot the woman, but fired off a round into the ceiling instead.

David Rice wrested the firearm away and then seized his wife’s neck, holding the handgun against her head as he threatened to kill her, deputies said.
“Bitch, I’ll f***ing kill you,” Rice allegedly said, according to deputies.
He fired, and the bullet reportedly hit a wall.

The other woman called emergency services and ran off. When police arrived the Rices refused to come out. A SWAT team was called in.
The couple reportedly came out after a couple of hours. David Rice was tased after he tried fighting with deputies, according to the Bay Times.
Both were put in custody on charges of aggravated assault. In addition, David Rice was charged with obstructing officers and is expected to be in court today on other charges of grand theft, burglary and possession of oxycodone.
Mindi Rice is currently serving two years of felony probation for credit-card fraud reports. She was sentenced in June for stealing a credit card in 2011, allegedly for the purpose of bailing her husband out of jail.
Mindi Rice’s Facebook page described her as mother of two with “my head on my shoulders” and “i jis [sic] know what i want in life.”
