Django Unchained Actress Charged With Lewd Conduct For Having Sex In Car (PHOTOS, VIDEO)

Hollywood actress Daniele Watts, who played the slave CoCo in Django Unchained has been formally charged for lewd conduct by Los Angeles police for having allegedly having sex with her boyfriend in the their car by the side of the road. This charge comes one month after the incident went viral.

In September, Watts who is being charged with her chef boyfriend, Brian James Lucas alleged that they were being racially profiled by the police who met them at the scene of the incident and that officers had thought she was a prostitute and her boyfriend was her customer. The care was parked outside the CBS Studio Centre.

Watts had earlier gone to her Facebook page to protest her treatment by the police and made some media rounds explaining her side of the story. She maintained that she and Lucas were just kissing when they were accosted by police officers who asked her for her identification on September 4, 2014.

She had her boyfriend have formally been charged with lewd conduct, one month after claiming Los Angeles Police racially profiled her and cuffed her because she is black.

Watts maintains that she and boyfriend Brian James Lucas were only kissing in her car, parked outside the CBS Studio Center, when police approached the pair on September 4.

Police say they responded to 911 calls from witnesses who complained that there was a couple having sex in a car. Witnesses snapped the photo of the couple in the car below.

Watts maintains that she and her boyfriend were only kissing. A witness snapped this picture of the couple before police broke up the public display of affection

Lucas had taken a picture of Watts crying after her arrest and posted it on Facebook at the time of the incident.

Civil right activists had rallied around the actress at the time of her arrest. However, support for the actress simmered as new information began to emerge.

The Los Angeles Police Department vigorously denied the allegations of racial profiling in the incident.

Watts and Lucas are scheduled to be arraigned on November 13, 2014 and if convicted they face a possible sentence of six months in jail with a $1,000 fine.
