Don Moen Assures Fans He’s Alive As Fake News Ignited Death Rumour

Must read

Popular American music maestro, Don Moen has taken to social media to assure his fans that is alive and well after internet rumours began to circulate after a fake news site published a story that he had died after a “short battle with stomach pain”.

“Celebrating four generations in Minnesota today! Here’s a photo of my dad, son John, holding Benneth and me holding Luke. Love my family,” the music icon said in a Facebook post on Wednesday, July 12, 2017. The post was that of a family photo with infant members of the Moen family.

Frank Edwards, a Nigerian gospel singer who has collaborated with Mr. Moen, was one of the first people to dispel the rumour on Twitter. He shared a screengrab of a conversation which he had with Michael, a son of the gospel music legend.

“An American singer-songwriter, pastor evangelist, Don Moen has died after short battle with stomach pain,” the fake news website published.

“His family confirmed that he died early this morning at General Acute Care (GAC) Hospital in California shortly after being rushed to the hospital.

“The cause of his death is not immediately known as the body is deposited at the morgue for autopsy.

“President Donald also has expressed his tributes, saying Don Moen was “one of the best gospel artists that the country has ever produced,” the Houston News site said.
