The Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Ado Ekiti, on Wednesday, July 30, 2014 granted the Ekiti State governor elect , Mr Ayodele Fayose and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), permission for the inspection of the materials used for the conduct of the Governorship poll.
Fayose won the governorship elections on June 21, which he contested alongside the incumbent governor and All Progressives Congress candidate, Kayode Fayemi.
The Justice, Mohammad Sirajo –led Tribunal , had earlier granted the same to the petitioner, All Progressives Congress, which filed the petition on behalf of its candidate, Governor Kayode Fayemi.
In a petition deposed to by its Chairman, Chief Jide Awe, the APC among other things , is contesting the declaration of Mr Fayose as the winner of the Governorship poll in the State, alleging that the election was rigged via technological programming it termed photo chromic and thermo chromic electronic device .
