Popular singer and songwriter, Sir Elton John’s mother, Sheila Farebrother has finally broken the ice on her seven-year long fracas between herself and John.
According to her, her son stopped speaking to her following a serious argument over his husband, David Furnish.
She reportedly lashed out on her son for taking his husband more important than his mother and John retorted that he loathed her.
According to Mirror UK, Farebrother’s decision to speak out was sparked in part by the pictures that appeared in their publication of her 90th birthday party two weeks ago, where she hired an Elton John impersonator to entertain her 80 guests.
The woman also disclosed that the fracas between herself and her son started when he suddenly called her on phone asking her to cut off all contact with two of their oldest friends, Bob Halley and John Reid, after they has issues.
Halley used to be John’s driver who later became his personal assistant and laid off after 30 years of service while Reid was his manager and briefly his lover who guided his career from its earliest days through to global superstardom and a £235 million fortune.
The mum was however adamant to her son’s demands which angered him.
She said, “I told him: ‘I’m not about to do that and drop them.”
“I suppose he was horrified because I dared to disobey.”
“Then to my utter amazement, he told me he hated me. And he then banged the phone down. Imagine! To me, his mother!
She said the last words she spoke to him were, “You think more of that fucking thing you married (Furnish) than your own mother.”
The woman wondered if she would ever be reconciled with her son.
She said, “It’s up to him” to get in contact again.
“And really, Furnish doesn’t want to be with me and I certainly don’t want to be with him. I’d like to give Furnish a punch right on the bloody earhole! If I had the chance, I’d do it.”
