Explosions and gunfire rocked the north city of Damaturu, Yobe state capital in the early hours of Monday,December 1, 2014 in a suspected Boko Haram attack that targeted police, residents told AFP.
Residents of Gujba Road area of Damaturu woke up to the sound of blasts and heavy weapons being fired woke locals at about 4:45 am.
A resident of the area, Umar Sada said: “We have left our homes. We are now in the bush. We don’t know what’s going to happen,” said local man Umar Sada, who said a police barracks had been destroyed.
