Governor Lamido Approves N204 Million For IDPs

The Jigawa State Government has approved the disbursement of N204 million meant to assist the internally displaced persons (IDPs) from the state who were affected by Boko Haram insurgency in Adamawa, Bauchi, Borno, Gombe, Taraba and Yobe states.

Making the announcement tp journalists shortly after an emergency security meeting presided over by Governor Sule Lamido was the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Alhaji Lawal Abdu Babura who explained that each victim would receive N5,000.

He said: “the state government had earlier set up a committee and had identified over 40,000 persons who  were displaced by the insurgency and forced to return home.

“This is part of the state government’s  gesture  which has shown enormous concern for its  people, no matter where they are in the world.”
