Governor Okorocha Declares 2 Weeks Holiday For Civil Servants In Imo State

In commemoration of annual Chrstmas festival, Governor, Rochas Okorocha, of Imo state has declared a 2-week holiday for civil servants and public servants from Friday, December 19 through January,  2015 .

He disclosed that the reason behind such action was to enable civil servants spend more time with their families and loved ones during the Christmas celebrations.

According to a statement by the Special Assistant to the Governor on Media, Mr Sam Onwumeodo, the holiday is also to avail them the opportunity to prepare well for the huge work in the New Year, Channel reports.

Okorocha disclosed that adequate secuity measures have been taken in the state to ensure a hitch-frese celebration especially for persons visiting the state.

While wishing Imo state indegens a wonderful Christmas celebration, he urged all citizens to be of good conduct and help fish out criminals in their localities.
