Emir of Kano, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi on Thursday, October 30, 2014 paid President Goodluck Jonathan a visit in Abuja, according to Premium Times, to mend fences after several months of an uneasy cold war.
Sanusi, who in February 2014 was ousted by President Jonathan as Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) governor over an unaccounted $20 billion oil revenue.
Shortly after his sack, Sanusi was appointed as Emir of Kano.
Since Sanusi’s coronation, both men had only met once in July to mark the end of Ramadan, although the meeting of Thursday, October 30, 2014 was said to be for reconciliation.
Sanusi was accompanied by all members of the Kano Emirate Council.
Also present at the meeting were Vice President Namadi Sambo, the National Security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki, Attorney General, Mohammed Adoke, and the Foreign Affairs Minister, Aminu Wali.
Those present at the meeting said the meeting was for peace, as the President said he has nothing against Sanusi and had forgiven him, same with Sanusi.
President Jonathan and Sanusi later met in private for 15 minutes.
