Only A Mad Person Will Say I Am Behind Boko Haram – President Jonathan

Must read

President Goodluck Jonathan has responded to accusations that he is in behind the incessant attacks by Boko Haram in the North Eastern region of the country to further his political interest, stating that such insinuations could only be made by mentally deranged individual.
The President made the remark while addressing a mammoth crowd at the Ribadu Square, Yola, Adamawa State, venue for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential campaign rally.
While describing his accusers as wicked, President Jonathan said that no sane leader would be in support of any sort of insurgent attack in a country he administers, adding that his administration was fully poised towards curbing the advances of Boko Haram.

He further availed that Nigerian military forces have reclaimed some territories out of the five local government areas of Adamawa State formerly occupied by the terrorists, including Michika, which was taken back on Thursday, January 29, 2015.

He said: “Some people have insinuated that I am behind Boko Haram and I say, may Allah forgive them. There is no human being that will be the leader of his country and instigate crisis. Why should I bring Boko Haram to Adamawa State?

“In 2011, I got 65 per cent of the votes in Adamawa State. How can any mad person insinuate that I am in support of Boko Haram for political reasons? God willing, we will recover all the remaining local governments and join you in redeveloping Adamawa State again”
