5 Secret Make-Up Tips For Women With Glasses

Must read

Do you skip your make-up routine altogether because you wear glasses? Instead of hiding behind your spectacles, highlight your features by following these simple tips.

1. Well-groomed eyebrows: Wearing glasses will make your eyebrows more noticeable. While some glasses cover the eyebrows, there are others which frame them. In either case, you need to keep them well-groomed, whether you wax, thread or tweeze them. Make sure they are nicely trimmed and shaped. If you have sparse spots, fill them in with an eyebrow pencil but don’t darken or define them too dramatically.

2. Complement your make-up with your frame: If your glass frame has warm undertones, use a warm-toned eyeshadow or lipstick. Also, apply your make-up according to your frame type. The colours you wear in your eye shadow should complement the colour of your frame, as well as the colour of your eyes. If your frames are bold, thick or dark, draw a thick line on your eyelids, and use neutral eyeshadows like beiges and browns. If your frames are rimless or pale, dark shadows look better. But women who wear heavy black frames can also experiment with brighter shades like fuchsia.

3. Highlight your pout: Use a more subtle lipstick or gloss for frames that are colourful or very distinct. If your glasses have a more understated, classic appeal, choose a bolder lipstick shade. If your glasses are slightly tinted, wear a brighter colour so that your lips don’t look too pale in comparison.

4. For the lashes and lids: To make your eyes look bigger and brighter, curling your eyelashes is a great tip. To further define the eyes, with your eyeliner, draw a thin line, close to the top lash line. If you want a natural look, opt for softer shades like bronze, brown, or grey rather than black. When it comes to the mascara, choose one with a smaller brush or non-clumping formula, so that you don’t get clumps while applying it. Use it sparingly.

5. Use a liquid concealer: Applying too much cream-based concealer under the eye, will make your face look cakey, especially since it is mag-. nified under the glasses. Choose a liquid formula, as this will sit well on your complexion, so it won’t crease.
