Man Electrocuted While Jumping High Tension In Ebonyi

A middle-aged man, Jonathan Agwu, from Umufu village, Amanato in Isu area of Ebonyi State, has been electrocuted at Agba Abor Isu in Onicha local government area of the state.

Vanguard learned that the victim was electrocuted over the weekend when he went to jump a high tension KVA line that was isolated by Enugu Electricity Distribution Company, EDDC.

Speaking on the incident, the state EDDC spokesperson, Mr. Lazarus Chiedozie Onyearugbulam stressed that the victim was not a staff of the company.

He said, “The man went to do our work; he decided to turn himself into EDDC staff by force by climbing up to jumper line that was isolated by the company to help them trace where there is fault.

“So he went to jumper it on his own, a 33KVA high tension line and unfortunately he paid the ultimate price.”
