Ministerial Nominees: Okorocha’s Cousin, Oyinlola Make Buhari’s 2nd Batch – Reports

There are strong indications that President Muhammadu Buhari may have made a decision as to those that will make up the next set of ministerial nominees to be sent to the Senate for screening.

According to The Nation, high level lobbying is already going on as the President weighs his options as to who will make the list.

It would be recalled that the President on Wednesday, September 30, 2015 sent a list of 21 names to the Senate President for screening.

According to the report, those that might make the list include in-law to the Imo State Governor, Uche Nwosu; former Osun State Governor, Olagunsoye Oyinlola; Scientist and innovator, Barth Nnaji; former President of the Nigerian bar Association (NBA), Oluwarotimi Akeredolu among others.

The report also stated that the President may be looking for a new Group Managing Director for the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) after the current incumbent, Ibe Kachikwu was nominated, probably to act as the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources.

The states that are said to be involved in the intense lobbying are Ondo, Kogi, Abia, Enugu, Imo, Bayelsa, Borno, Cross River, Nasarawa, Yobe, Zamfara, Osun, Kaduna, Bauchi, Sokoto, Adamawa, Lagos.
