Following the recent attack of Boko Haram sect in Adamawa, a security source has declared that the terrorist movement had killed the son of the Emir of Mubi.

The security source who disclosed the news to the media on Friday, October 31, 2014 said that as the terrorist group enters Vimtim community, their primary target was the house of the Chief Defense Staff, CDS, adding that when they located his home, they were overheard as they shouted ‘bring out the family of Badeh for slaughter, search the whole house, do not let any of them escape’.

Fortunately, no member of his family was in the house when the attackers arrived.

A son of the Emir of Mubi who was reported to have relocated to Vimtim after the attack on Mubi on Wednesday, October 29, 2014 was said to have been recognized and killed by the terrorists group.

Speaking further on the shocking development, the source said investigations have now revealed that many of the visitors who recently entered into Mubi in the last four days before the attack were Boko Haram members and informants who infiltrated the town on the pretext of being traders or family relations running from terrorists attacks in other communities.

“What really caused the pandemonium and panic that assisted the terrorist gain a upper hand was that as soldiers were in the frontlines marked out to repel the sect members coming from Uba axis in Borno, bombs and gunfire attack was coming from inside Mubi and communities which resulted in confusion”, the source said.

The source also added that reason some of the people had escaped the attack is a pointer to the fact that many of them have been told that they should not say their prayers in the town that day. They however failed to alert security agencies with such information until the deed was done.

The source however assured that security forces were not resting on their oars and will continue to defend the people from the grip of the terrorist group.

The Director of Defence Information, Major General Chris Olukolade has not made any statement to address the issue as efforts to reach him on phone prove abortive.
