Niyi Pirisola, a former local government caretaker committee chairman has been murdered in Ondo State.
According to an anonymous source who spoke to SaharaReporters, Pirisola was killed on Friday morning, September 2, 2016.
The source said, through a telephone conversation, that the former local government chairman had been returning from church in Ilutuntun, his hometown when the unknown gunmen opened fire on him.
“He was killed in the early hours of today (Friday) at about 3:00 am while returning from a branch of Celestial Church Of Christ at Ilutuntun in his hometown,” the source stated.
The source also said that the end of Niyi Pirisole’s tenure had been very violent. He was in the People’s Democratic Party during his tenure.
The reports was later confirmed by a police officer in the area.
“Yes, he was assassinated by yet to be identified gunmen and his body has been deposited at the Okitipupa General Hospital,” a police officer said.
“We (Police) have begun our investigation into the murder case by interrogating members of his family.”
