Influential Pastor and General Overseer, Dr. Enoch Adebeyo has today denounced claims that he endorsed Yemi Osinbajo has the running mate for General Muhammed Buhari in the forthcoming general elections.
Buhari had announced Professor Osinbajo has his running mate yesterday, Wednesday, December 17, 2014. Osinbajo is a former university professor and pastor at the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) which Adeboye leads.
Earlier today, a Twitter handle which claims it beloned to RCCG, @rccgworldwide earlier sent out a tweet purported on behalf of the church endoring the All Progressive Congress’s (APC) Vice Presidential candiate.
Adeboye has taken to Facebook to debunk the claim and disown the twitter handle saying, “On behalf of The Governing Council of The Redeemed Christian Church of God, we would like to inform the public that RCCG is not affiliated nor represented by @rccgworldwide. The church’s official twitter page is @rccghq. The church cherishes the right of all citizens to participate in the democratic process to vote.”
The @RCCDWorldwide Twitter handle has since edited its profile information today to reflect that it does not belong to the RCCG Church, “This is a worldwide Christian platform for evangelism, spiritual development & prayers. Although RCCG focused, visit@PastorEAAdeboye for RCCG official tweets.”
