Only PDP Can Pull Nigeria Out Of This Economic Crisis – Governor Udom Emmanuel

Governor Udom Emmanuel of Akwa Ibom State has declared that the main opposition party in Nigeria, the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, remains the only party capable of rescuing Nigeria from its declining economic situation.

Speaking at in Benin City at the flag-off of the campaign for the Edo State governorship candidate, Osagie Ize-Iyamu, Governor Emmanuel said that the party was ready to reclaim the South South state from the All Progressives Congress, APC and keep the region as a stronghold of the PDP.

Udom was speaking on behalf of the South South PDP governors at the campaign event on Tuesday, July 5, 2016. He said that PDP reclaiming Edo State would deliver dividends of democracy and engender growth and development in the region.

Governor Udom Emmanuel described the PDP candidate for Edo, Pastor Ize-Iyamu as a credible candidate who will reposition Edo State.

Mr. Ize-Iyamu has named a former chairman of Esan North Local Government Area, John Yakubu, as his running mate in the September 10 governorship elections.

He expressed gratitude to God and PDP supporters for the opportunity given him to fly the ticket of the party, saying the party was blessed with leaders who can change the fortune of the state.

PDP’s board of trustees Member, Jerry Gana, and the national chairman of the party, Ahmed Markafi, who was represented by Odion Ugbesia attended the event alongside, a former chairman of PDP Board of Trustees, Tony Anenih, the Esama of Benin, Gabriel Igbinedion, and a former foreign affairs minister, Tom Ikimi.
