How Oral Sex Helps Decrease Depression In Women… And Men – Research

Must read

Feeling blue? A bit down? Get or give a blowjob, it’s scientifically proven to make you feel better

A New York University study concluded that a bit of oral tickling is good for you, but only if the ‘goods’ are swallowed (good luck starting your argument on that point). The study investigated the bio-chemical composition of male semen and its nutritional value – some of which share similar substances to anti-depression medication.

Semen is made up of chemicals that elevate mood including esterone, oxytocin, serotonin, and a thyrotropin-releasing hormone, affection increasing chemicals like cortisol and sleep inducing chemicals like melatonin. All these chemicals mixed together make for a happier person it seems. Maybe regular doses are needed?

The study interviewed 293 female college students from Albany campus in New York State University and compared their sex lives with surveys on depression. The researchers discovered that the women who never used condoms had fewer symptoms of depression than those who always used condoms.

Those that left condoms off were being exposed to semen. They also found that women who were abstinent or promiscuously practicing safe-sex were equally depressed meaning that women who are having sex aren’t happier.

Below is an extract from the study entitled “Does semen have antidepressant properties?”

“Not only were females who were having sex without condoms less depressed, but depressive symptoms and suicide attempts among females who used condoms were proportional to the consistency of condom use. For females who did not use condoms, depression scores went up as the amount of time since their last sexual encounter increased.” Gallup, Burch, and Platek

So how does this link to blowjobs you ask? Well, the risk of getting pregnant leads to its own anxieties; so to receive a semen dosage orally (and thus the anti-depression chemicals) is safer apparently. And not only that, but the study also found that women’s concentration level increased after exposure to semen… just don’t tell her that your penis can give her some clarity.

This is good news for both men and women – men get the benefit of an orgasm and women get a dose of happy chemicals. Everyone wins.
