Gang Arrested In Kaduna Confesses To Kidnapping Christian Leaders (PHOTO)

The six suspected kidnappers of some pastors in Kaduna State in March 2015 have confessed to have committed the crime. They were arrested by the police through the inspector general’s special intelligence response team.

They gave various versions of their involvement and operational techniques with which they carried out the criminal activity.

The suspects, according to the Nigeria Police Force, include Kashimu Shehu, aka Baliago, the gang Leader; Aliyu Mato Haruna, aka, Yellow; Muhammedu Mamman; Hassan Bello; Bala Mohammed and Ishiaku Kabiru, they were rounded up by the police from their hideouts in Kaduna and Zaria.

They were involved in the March 21, 2016 kidnap of the president and vice president of the United Church of Christ in Nigeria, Reverend Emmanuel Dziggan and Reverend Illiya Anthony respectively and another pastor of the church, Rev Yakubu Dzarmaý, at Dutse village in Kaduna State.

They gave various confessional statements on the manner of their operation and their nature of the torture their victims are made to go through in the forest of death. But the leader, 27 year old Kashimu Shehu, denied being leader of the kidnap group.

They gave varied narratives on how they got their guns and the usefulness of the gun to them. They also told the police their family background and the number of cows they each have.

Recall that Arase, who was said to have been miffed by the development in Kaduna State, had ordered the operatives of his elite SIRT, to proceed to the State to track down the hoodlums and put an end to their activities.

It was gathered that the operatives, on arriving the state gathered several intelligence from the locals for two weeks, before swooping on the suspects.
