#SoundOff: Sai Baba! As Buhari’s Ministers Try To Hide Their Corrupt Past

Must read

[dropcap]W[/dropcap]hy would this bother anyone when President Muhammadu Buhari who made the promise to publicly declare his assets within 100 days of taking office, is yet to PUBLICLY declared his assets?

To make assets declaration public means that any Nigerian could access Buhari’s assets as declared to the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB) and on the pages of national newspapers.

It means that anyone could locate properties owned by Buhari across Nigeria because their addresses would have to revealed. It means Nigerians would know the model, the year, the value of the luxury cars that their president owns.

It means Buhari’s manufactured image of a ‘spartan’ ex-general goes up in spoke once Nigerians find out that he is actually a multi-billionaire whose wife and children live a lavish life that only 99% of them can only dream of.

Buhari promised to lead by example and that he would encourage all his appointees to declare their assets publicly as well. Nigerian cheered wildly!

But, he did not. Not only that, he took Nigerians on a rigmarole on the subject matter from passing the buck to CCB and later sending his spokesman to present a doctored list as his assets.

I always knew that Buhari had nothing new to offer. I knew he was playing games with Nigerians during the campaigns and now that he is President the games continue. It is no surprise that his 36 ministers, a list of corrupt, would fail to toe the line of their monumentally corrupt leader.
