“For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision avails anything, but faith working through love.” -Galatians 5:6 NKJV
Without faith it is impossible to please God, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. So we have a lot of fantastic believers; men and women who have believed in Jesus and are called Christians: people who have devoted themselves to serving the Lord. To believe is a great thing, but it is not enough.
Let’s go to 1 Corinthians 13:2. “And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing.”
You can now see that it is not enough for us to be just believers. Let me tell you something; even the devil and demons believe! So just being a believer is not impressive. What makes us outstanding is the love that we have for other people. That’s one thing that the devil can never have; he can never love.
Brothers and sisters, our faith must be expressed through love. We can have all the faith in the world to move mountains, to raise the dead, to heal the sick and cast out demons; but if we are not also loving the unlovable, loving the helpless and the needy, if we are not loving fellow believers, we are nothing.
