“But as the Ark of the Lord’s Covenant entered the City of David, Michal, the daughter of Saul, looked down from her window. When she saw King David skipping about and laughing with joy, she was filled with contempt for him.” – 1 Chronicles 15:29 NLT
David was full of joy, and danced “anyhow” because of the Ark of the Lord. The Ark meant that the presence of God was with him, in the City of David: he had heard how the house of Obed-Edom was blessed because of the Ark of God, and David was excited to have the Ark with him. It was truly something to be excited about!
Brothers and sisters in Christ, we have so much more than the Ark! God has done so much more for us than giving us an Ark! He gave us His Son Jesus Christ to die for our sins and to give us new life; He made us new creatures, filled us with His Holy Spirit, and made us His dwelling place!
Oh! What treasure have we in our earthen vessels! We are truly blessed! If we had a comprehensive revelation of what God did for us through Christ we would spend the rest of our lives dancing in joy and appreciation.
Listen, today is not a day to mourn, because we are not remembering a dead Saviour! Yes, He died; but He did not remain dead; He rose again on the third day! Hallelujah! My heart is full of joy!!!
