Spirit and Life Devotional: Being Like Daniel

Must read

Spirit and Life Devotional is a daily publication by Pastor Chinaemerem Ibezim, senior pastor of Able Ministers Chapel, a church based in Calabar, Cross River State.

[pull_quote_center]”Then the other administrators and high officers began searching for some fault in the way Daniel was handling government affairs, but they couldn’t find anything to criticize or condemn. He was faithful, always responsible, and completely trustworthy.” – Daniel 6:4 NLT[/pull_quote_center]

You know, people say it’s impossible for a Christian to be a politician and public office holder and not be corrupt. That’s why politics, especially in Africa, is called a dirty game. Even believers are scared of venturing into politics in order not to be corrupted.

Daniel was a public office holder, one of the most senior officials in the kingdom: he had real power and authority to do whatever he desired, but the Bible says that he was found to be faultless! Daniel didn’t steal, he didn’t abuse his office, he followed due process, and he was fair in all his dealings. Wow!

You don’t have to be an elected official or a civil servant to be like Daniel. You can be like Daniel where you work, in your school and in your community. Stand out. Live a life that honours God. Be an example of a true Christian. Be a person of integrity. Be faultless! If Daniel was able to be faultless in the Old Testament, how much more when God’s grace is sufficient for us? We too can! Amen.
