Tragic: 50-Year-Old Village Chief Commits Suicide, Leaves Note For Buhari

A 50-year-old man has committed suicide in Akwa Ibom leaving a suicide note for President Muhammadu Buhari, Vanguard reports.

The shocking incident occurred in Mbiaobong Itam in Itu Local Government Area of the state.

According to the report, the residents of the village woke up to the sight of Chief Ekanem Edet dangling from a noose from the roof of his house. His wife and two sons had gone out early in the morning without realising that he had hung himself.

The late Edet was a former secretary of the Mbiaobong Village Council and was popularly called Jolly Boy.

It is unclear the details of the reported suicide note addressed to Nigeria’s President Muhammadu Buhari left by the deceased.
