Disrespectful: Oluremi Tinubu Shuns Senate President Saraki’s During Oath Taking

Must read

Senator Oluremi Tinubu (Lagos Central), the spouse to the All Progressives Congress leader, Asiwaju Bloa Tinubu, during the taking of the oath of office on Wednesday, June 10, 2015 refused to shake hands with Senate President Bukola Saraki but merely showed him her certificates and walked out on the Senate President.

By protocol, it is expected of any newly sworn in senator, after reciting the oath of office to present his or her copy of their certificate to the Senate President and in turn, shake hands with him but Senator Oluremi Tinubu was recalcitrant towards the exercise.

The senators including Senator Ahmed Lawan who had earlier been selected as the sole candidate by the All Progressives Congress for the Senate Presidential seat took turn to take their oaths by reading it out aloud and appending their signatures.
