Operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) searched the plane conveying Ondo State Governor, Dr. Olusegun Mimiko as he landed in Port Harcourt Airport on Tuesday, January 5, 2016.
Governor Mimiko was en route Bayelsa State when the DSS swooped in on him in a commando-like operation immediately the plane landed Port Harcourt International Airport.
Not only did the DSS search the plane, they also searched the Governor, his security details and aides.

Governor Olusegun Mimiko is in Bayelsa State to show his support for Bayelsa State Counterpart, Governor Seriake Dickson in the upcoming Bayelsa State Supplementary Election on Saturday.
When asked what the motive for the search was, the DSS operatives replied that they were acting on “orders from above.”
“After searching the Plane and discovered nothing of incriminating nature, they just walked away in embarassment,” an eyewitness said.
