New York-based organisation, Human Rights Watch has accused president Muhammadu Buhari of violation of human rights in his fight against corruption and war against insurgency.
In a report published on Wednesday, January 27, 2016, HRW said it believed Buhari “has not diminished the potency of the country’s serious human rights challenges.”
According to AP news agency, Buhari has so far not acted on his promise to investigate allegations that the military is committing extrajudicial killings and illegally detaining people suspected of being Boko Haram fighters or supporters.
