3 People Killed In A Fulani Herdsmen Invasion In Anambra

Must read

At least three persons were killed by suspected Fulani herdsmen in Mkpu Nanndo Otu Community, Anambra East Local Government Area, when two community farm lands were invaded on Saturday, May 25, 2019.

Also, cows were slaughtered by angry farmers whose farm lands were destroyed by the cattle belonging to the Herdsmen in the area.

Speaking to journalists at his palace on Saturday, May 25, 2019, the traditional ruler of Mpku Nanndo Otu Community Igwe Alex Edoziuno said: “As I speak to you the Fulani Herdsmen have taken over my farm lands and other farm lands in my neighboring communities and about two or three persons have so far been killed while some cattle were slaughtered by the villagers whose farm lands were destroyed.

“I cannot go to my farm now and most people in my community and other communities cannot make use of their farm lands because of the menace of the Herdsmen in the area.’

Edoziuno however expressed happiness over what he called the prompt response and assistance of Anambra State Governor, Willie Obiano who he said paid compensation to both the community and the Herdsmen for whatever they may have lost so far.

He urged President Buhari to see his second term in office as an opportunity to mend the face of his administration by stopping the killings in the country and ensure peace and security of lives and property in Nigeria.
