4 Chibok Schoolgirls Escape Boko Haram Camp In Cameroon – Australian Negotiator

Must read

Four of the over 230 Chibok schoolgirls who were kidnapped from their school by Boko Haram militants over 6 months ago have escaped from a terrorist camp in Cameroon, Stephen Davis tells The Times of London.

Stephen Davis is an Australian priest who has been in the news for sometime in the negotiation for the release of the Chibok schoolgirls from captivity. According to him, the teenage girls escaped the terrorist den with the help of another teenage prisoner and made the long walk home. After three weeks, they finally arrived at a Nigerian village.

The girls looks ”tattered and traumatized” when villagers spotted them in the bush.

A senior officer at the Nigerian Defence headquarters, who wished not to be named, said the Nigerian military is not aware of Davis’ latest claims.

Davis, who worked with President Obasanjo in negotiating with Niger Delta militants during Obasanjo’s presidency, is self-appointed on his latest rescue mission which has been the subject of intense controversy in the country. He had named alleged sponsors of the dreaded Islamist group. He had also provided some heartbreaking details of the ordeal the Chibok girls were passing through in terror camps.

The kidnap of Chibok schoolgirls by Boko Haram ignited global outrage against the terrorist group and anger against the Nigerian government for its perceived do-nothing approach to the hideous crime.
