Kendall

Kris Jenner and her daughter Kendall shared a humorous scene in which the momager tried to convince the off-guard model to take steps to have a baby on the latest episode of The Kardashians.

Kris, 66, shocked Kendall, 26, with a discussion about freezing her eggs, which caused the catwalk star to momentarily choke on her coffee.

‘It’s my life. I don’t know if I’m ready yet,’ Kendall replied, after Kris suggested she should have a baby, seemingly out of nowhere.

‘Maybe it’s time to have a baby’: Kris Jenner pressures Kendall

‘When you were born, I made your body inside my body, so I made your eggs inside of me,’ Kris explained. ‘That means I made —’

‘—My eggs. I’ve seen this on TikTok. Are you watching TikTok?’ Kendall interjected.

Kris decided to call up her OB-GYN out of the blue, who recommended a cycle of egg freezing, adding that it would be more successful since Kendall was still young.

Kris likely had Kendall’s boyfriend, Phoenix Suns star Devin Booker, on her mind while talking her daughter into planning ahead for a baby.

Kendall had previously met Devin while she was still in a relationship with Ben Simmons, but they were spotted together on a road trip together in April 2020.

The pairing raised eyebrows, as he had previously dated Kylie Jenner’s banished BFF Jordyn Woods, who was cast out of their circle after Khloé Kardashian’s partner Tristan Thompson kissed her at a party.

By June, things had accelerated and the two were reportedly hooking up, though not yet serious.

The two continued sharing photos of each other on social media in late 2020 and early 2021, showing they weren’t afraid to hide the relationship.

They made things Instagram official with joint posts of the romantic outing for Valentine’s Day last year.

Since then, they’ve been inseparable, but don’t expect to see Devin anytime soon on The Kardashians.

Showrunner Danielle King told Variety that Kendall won’t be including the NBA star, though her friends will be more prominently featured this time around.

Before the chat about freezing her eggs, Kendall also got an unpleasant surprise when an offer to cover US Vogue was rescinded — with her sister Kim Kardashian getting the covers shoot instead.

Kris met up with Kendall later in the episode to break the news about losing out on the cover, but she didn’t have to say anything as Kendall’s agent had already informed her, which was a big relief.

‘I’m happy for my sister, and she should be really happy,’ Kendall said kindly. ‘There’s not an upset bone in my body because it went to the right person.

‘I’m happy to give it up to my sister,’ she added.

Kris was over the moon at how well she took it in a confessional chat.

‘Kendall is the best! She’s the most delicious human being in the world,’ she said.

Elsewhere, Kim tried to make amends with her family for how her ex-husband Kanye West had ‘treated’ them over the years.

She shared her regrets over how the superstar rapper had behaved in recent years after most of her famous siblings dropped by for a lovely family dinner at her home.

The group — which included Khloé, Kendall, Kourtney, and her future husband Travis, and their mother Kris with her boyfriend Corey Gamble — sat down for a heart to heart at a breakfast nook before moving over to the dining room.

Their chit chat was interrupted when both Kim and Kris got the same text message revealing that Kanye was preparing to release a new song.

‘It means he’s talking s*** about me and probably saying whatever,’ Kim explained to her confused siblings.

‘You’re the mother of his kids and have been nothing but great to him,’ Kris said. ‘One day your kids are going to read all of it, and see all of it. And that’s something that everybody has to be really aware of.’

She added that ‘When people are saying disparaging things about any of us, it hurts all of us.’

Khloé said the only thing Kim could control was her own actions, and she said she would ‘never regret’ being kind to others.

Kim vowed that she would never ‘stoop’ to her ex’s level and suggested that Kanye had ‘always’ treated her family poorly, suggesting the issues preceded his battle with bipolar disorder and their split.

‘I protected that for so long, but I said I will never let that happen to you guys again,’ Kim said defiantly.

Kim sounded excited to have her family back together after saying she had ‘zero time’ recently to spend with them while she studied for law school and raised her four children.

Before dinner was served, Kourtney and Travis shared that they had to refrain from any kind of sex or exercise while undergoing a cleanse to help them conceive a child.

Kourtney added that they asked for some clarity from their advisor. ‘What about oral sex? What about hands? What about feet?’ she recounted asking.

‘Feet?’ inquired a confused Kris, which got a sheepish laugh out of her oldest daughter.

Once the elegant dinner was served, Kourtney revealed that she had finally had a conversation with her former partner Scott Disick about his rude behavior around herself and her family due to her relationship with Travis.

She recounted how he called her to ask about sports equipment for their son Mason, only to ask, ‘By the way, should I just expect to not be invited to dinners from now on?’

‘Honestly, there’s some unfinished business, and then I just said a conversation would be helpful to get out of this strange place,’ Kourtney recalled saying.

Luckily, Scott sounded open to the chat. ‘”Of course I’m interested. This is my life,”‘ she recounted him responding.

Khloé thought that was a positive sign and mentioned that it took years for ‘mom, dad and [Caitlyn] to get comfortable around each other.’

Earlier in the episode, Kim had the spotlight on herself as she showed off her modeling prowess during a photoshoot with Kendall.

She was continuing her Balenciaga collaboration with a new ad campaign that was being shot in her home and would subsequently be featured on billboards.

‘I feel like I’ve already been in a campaign,’ she said of her time wearing the fashion house’s clothing at the instigation of Kanye.

While she was being styled before the photoshoot, Kris dropped by and Kim revealed that she had worked on the contract herself to practice what she had learned of contract law so far.

‘Who better to practice on than myself?’ she said in the makeup chair.

‘You’ll still get 10 percent,’ joked Kim’s makeup artist Mario Dedivanovic to Kris.

Later, Kim went through an enormous warehouse filled with all of her old outfits, and she says there could be as many as ‘30,000 pieces’ in storage.

She admitted that she wasn’t sure what her new style should be. ‘I’ve always had Kanye there as this crutch to teach me so much about fashion,’ she said.

‘The status of my relationship with Kanye hasn’t really been clear to people because I was trying to figure that out too. And I’m ready to move on,’ Kim admitted in a confessional.

She was joined by her publicist Tracy Romulus, who shared that Kim has an amazing memory and could remember what outfit she wore on a given date, along with how her hair was styled and what kind of eyeshadow she wore.

To prove it, Tracy asked her about her New Year’s Eve outfit from Las Vegas — ‘What year?’ Kim had to have her specify — and the Skims founder seemed to nail the details.

While going through outfits, Tracy reminded Kim of the time Kanye apparently cleared out her closet and replaced everything in it.

‘I forgot that I can make decisions too,’ she said of her newfound independence.

For the Balenciaga shoot, she later met up with Martina Tiefenthaler, the chief creative officer for the fashion house.

‘To know that one of my favorite designers ever is valuing my opinion and wants me to be me is just a good, empowering feeling,’ she bragged.

Kim gushed that Balenciaga let her use her own hair and makeup team and to rock the long braided ponytail extension she had been wearing around that time.

But during some downtime, Kris dropped by and revealed the good news that Kendall had been potentially offered the cover of American Vogue.

However, there was a bump in the road, and the magazine had decided to bump her and to offer the cover to Kim, who had already graced it twice before.

‘I feel so bad,’ Kim said, and Kris wasn’t sure how to break the news.

In a confessional, the aspiring lawyer joked she would have ‘killed’ Kendall to get the cover from her 15 years ago.

Kris wondered if she should just say nothing, and Kim laughed at the idea of her little sister suddenly seeing her on the cover at a newsstand.

Later, at the Vogue shoot, Kim said she was feeling confident and like a new person.

‘Nothing I would wear before felt like me. This is me,’ she said as she gushed about having more control in choosing her outfits and style.

She was interrupted by a FaceTime call from Anna Wintour, who complimented her outfit and was happy about the items Kim planned to wear.

‘You look perfect,’ she enthused.

While Kim was working on finding herself, Kourtney and Travis were focused on their fertility journey.

After her last egg retrieval was unsuccessful, the two had decided to try a Panchakarma cleanse, which she said was a ‘3,000-year-old’ practice that would remove ‘toxins in our tissue.’

However, the bizarre practice has not been scientifically validated, and many nutritionists believe it could even be dangerous, according to WebMD.

Kourtney did the cleanse 10 years earlier, and Travis was open to it, as it was the only option she had mentioned that he hadn’t tried yet.

He seemed agitated about not being able to exercise or have sex for a week, though he was still playful and affectionate around Kourtney.

She warned him that she was on ‘so much estrogen right now’ that it might give her severe mood swings.

‘I’m OK with a bad day, or a rough day with you, than a day without you,’ he replied sweetly.

‘OK, good luck,’ she replied with a perfect deadpan.

Later, they were joined by Martha Soffer, their Ayurvedic expert who was supervising the cleanse.

Kourtney recounted their last appoint where a ‘doctor’ told her that Travis had ‘grade-A’ sperm. His medical advice seemed questionable, though, as he had urged her to drink Travis’ semen ‘four times a week.’

‘Love this doctor,’ Travis added.

He started rubbing his hands all over his love and kissing her. ‘I love you, I’d do anything for you,’ he added.

They followed up the meeting with a trip to Martha’s spa, where they would be going seven days in a row for four-hour spa treatments.

Kourtney was going to have a ‘yoni steam,’ or vaginal steam, in which she would sit nude over steaming water filled with herbs, though there is also no medical evidence that it has any benefits, and many OB-GYNs argue that it could be harmful, according to the Cleveland Clinic.

Kourtney also got a ginger foot bath, which was supposed to bring ‘warmth to the womb.’

For her vaginal steam, she sat down on what looked like a toilet seat covered in towels, while draping another towel over herself to protect her modesty.

However, Stefflon Don in a post shared on her Instagram story on Sunday 7th August shed more light on why their relationship crashed.

According to the singer, she broke up with Burna Boy because of his ego, stressing that the ‘Twice as Tall’ crooner always sees his colleague, Wizkid as competition.

Stefflon Don added that Burna Boy can’t satisfy her in bed and bullied her the last time she wanted to speak out about the issue.

She wrote, “I broke up with Burna Boy because he has a fragile ego. He sees his friend Wizkid as a competition, despite knowing Wizkid is bigger than he is. He can’t even satisfy me in bed. SMH. He bullied me the last time I wanted to talk, but not anymore.”

The successful strikes were targeted at key terrorists’ enclaves and hideouts at Rugu Forest in Katsina State.

Boss, who has been on the radar of the Nigerian Military and other security agencies, was killed in the operation.

According to military sources, the deceased Boko Haram Commander was based in the Marina area of Safana Local Government Area and was responsible for several terrorist attacks, animal rustling, and kidnappings.

A source said: “He was known to regularly invite terrorists’ groups from other areas and regions to join him in attacks on targets.

“Specifically, he was part of the terrorist group that carried out attacks that eventually led to the death of the Nigerian Police Area Commander of Dutsin ma on 5 July 2022.

“Reports filtering in have since confirmed that Abdulkareem Boss was neutralised in the precision strike alongside 27 of his foot soldiers.

“Reports have also revealed that air strikes conducted by the Air Component of Operation Hadin Kai at Degbawa near Mandara Mountain in Gwoza LGA of Borno State on the 3 August 2022 may have led to the death of a well-known terrorist Kingpin, Alhaji Modu, aka Bem Bem, and some of his fighters.

“It was revealed that Alhaji Modu, a key ISWAP Commander, had converged with others for a morning meeting on an intended attack before they were struck by an array of NAF assault aircraft.

“An assessment of the strike revealed that the entire location was levelled to the ground and sources have since revealed that no fewer than 20 terrorists were confirmed eliminated in the strike.

“Similar strikes were also conducted on terrorists’ hideouts around Abuja.

“Although Intelligence Surveillance and Reconnaissance reports have since indicated that the terrorists fizzled out immediately after carrying out their nefarious acts, credible information have since revealed that threats within Abuja was being orchestrated by terrorists from their hideouts within Kaduna, Niger, and Zamfara States.

“In view of this, NAF aircraft under Operation Whirl Punch were dispatched to undertake intensive air interdiction operation to degrade/neutralise the terrorists within their identified hideouts in Giwa, Birnin Gwari, Kajuru, and Chikun LGA in Kaduna State and Kusasu, Kwaki and Kukere LGA in Niger State.

“The positive feedback received from ground troops deployed indicated that the terrorists have suffered heavy casualties and their logistics bases razed to the ground.

“The successes of the air strikes underscore NAF’s indefectible commitment to ridding the entire Northern region as well as the FCT of terrorism in collaboration with other security agencies and restoring peace and sanity.”

The successes came about a week after the Chief of Defence Staff, CDS, and Service Chiefs assured Nigerians of change in strategy and momentum during the National Security Council, NSC, meeting headed by President Buhari.

Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike meets PDP presidential Candidate, Atiku Abubakar on Wednesday, June 1

The gulf between Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, presidential candidate Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike deepened at the weekend.

The governor’s camp alleged that the former vice president was playing “a divide and rule” in the opposition party.

The governor’s supporters alleged that Atiku has started by-passing Wike and reaching out to other prominent Rivers PDP chieftains in a bid to isolate the governor ahead of next year’s polls.

To check the contacts being established by the presidential candidate, the governor has tightened his grip on the Rivers chapter.

Also, Wike has not extended invitation to PDP national leaders for the commissioning of projects across the state this week, despite inviting All Progressives Congress (APC) leaders for the ceremonies.

While Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu was invited to inaugurate the Orochiri-Worukwo flyover, a former Governor of Sokoto State, Senator Aliyu Wamakko, is expected in the state tomorrow for the inauguration of the Ogbum-Nu-Abali Eastern Bypass dualised road.

Other invitees are the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, who will inaugurate the House of Assembly quarters on Friday, and Olusegun Mimiko, a former Governor of Ondo State, who will commission the dualised Azikiwe Illoabuchi Road.

On Sunday 7, 2022, Ebonyi State Governor Dave Umahi paid a visit to Wike in Port Harcourt for a partisan discussion.

The discussion focused on 2023 and the need for political leaders in the South to unite despite their party affiliations and ensure power shift to the South, it was learnt.

Party sources said the visits to Wike by APC governors have unsettled the PDP national leadership.

Efforts to get Atiku’s reaction were futile. A text message to his media aide, Paul Ibe, was not replied.

However, the Board of Trustees (BoT) Chairman, Senator Walid Jibril, said efforts were being made to resolve the Atiku/Wike rift.

There were indications that the bad blood created by the PDP national leadership and Atiku during the process that led to the emergence of Atiku’s running mate, Delta State Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, was far from over.

Sources said Atiku’s utterances and body language that he could win the next election without Wike and Rivers are infuriating to the governor’s camp.

According to sources, there were signs that Atiku was making efforts to divide the Rivers PDP by bypassing Wike to establish contacts with other party leaders in the state.

It was alleged that the flagbearer has been secretly meeting some Rivers PDP leaders, including former Senator Lee Meeba, former House of Representatives Deputy Speaker Austin Opara, and former Governor Celestine Omehia.

It was further gathered that the recent dissolution of the Governing Council, Captain Elechi Amadi Polytechnic, and the removal of Lee Meeba as its Chairman was part of the fallout of the alleged meeting with Atiku.

Last week, Wike dissolved the Governing Council with immediate effect.

The dissolution was contained in a statement by the Commissioner for Education, Prince Chinedu Mmom.

The statement asked members of the council to hand over all properties of the school in their possession to the school management.

Wike has accused some leaders and elders of the party of holding secret meetings with Atiku during a parley that was deadlocked.

The governor, it was gathered, also took some drastic steps to reorganise the leadership of the PDP in local government areas where their former leaders showed signs of disloyalty.

‘Why Atiku needs Rivers votes’

One of the leaders of PDP, who spoke in confidence, warned that it would be suicidal for anybody to think he could get the support of Rivers people, especially PDP members, without Wike.

He said: “These issues are still speculative. There hasn’t been any official statement to confirm them. But anybody who thinks he can bypass the governor to get the support of Rivers people should simply think again. It is politically suicidal to think so.

“I think that PDP leaders in Rivers should come together and hold a meeting. Governor Wike has surpassed the promises he made to Rivers people and the people love him. He also has total control of the PDP. Therefore, it will not be possible to bypass him.”

A PDP stalwart, Ogbonna Nwuke, however, said people should not read political meaning into the governor’s project commissioning and inauguration.

Nwuke said it was not the first time the governor would invite APC leaders to commission his projects, recalling that Wike once invited former Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State for a similar purpose.

On the recent comment of Atiku that the PDP could win the forthcoming election without the governor, Nwuke reminded Atiku that “pride comes before a fall”.

He said: “We are worried that the one, who claims to be a unifier and the one, who claims to be patriotic Nigerian can utter those words. It is a shame if it is true. I want to believe he was misquoted.

“At this point, we are not talking about whether or not he will win an election with or without anyone.

“What we are thinking about is the unity of the PDP that he belongs to. If what happened was wrong, he had the responsibility to correct them. Pride goes before a fall.

“I am worried that at his age given the level of his exposure, he can make those comments. It is wrong for someone who has been a beneficiary of the PDP to make those comments.

“We wish him luck. We cannot reply a man, who has suddenly become drunken by some arrogance.”

Jibrin: end to rift in sight

PDP stakeholders have recorded significant progress in resolving the rift.

The BoT chairman, in a telephone chat with our correspondent, said parties to the dispute have resolved to allow peace to reign.

Jibrin said: “We are on top of the situation and we have recorded significant progress. All parties have realised the need to put their differences aside in the overall interest of our great party.

“I can assure you that we are moving very fast and things are falling in place but I don’t want to say much for now.

“We will not be discussing details of our efforts in the media for now. We will get you informed at the appropriate time.”

‘Atiku ‘promised’ Wike VP ticket’

Shortly after winning the October 31 PDP presidential primaries, Atiku paid Wike a visit at the Rivers governor’s private residence in Abuja.

Photos of the visit showing Atiku in a lineup with Wike and allies on both sides were released to the media, although discussions at the meeting were not made public.

However, a source who was privy to discussions at the meeting gave a detailed account of what transpired.

According to the source, who spoke under a condition of anonymity, after a general interface among Atiku, Wike, and allies on both sides, the two gladiators had retreated into an inner living room for a private discussion that lasted about 15 minutes.

The two politicians were said to have emerged from their brief meeting wearing convivial smiles.

The entire gathering then proceeded outside the main entrance of the building where they took group photographs, which were later released to the media.

Meeting over, Atiku and his team took their leave with Wike and his men seeing them off to their waiting cars.

Back in the main living room, Wike was said to have done a debrief of the 15-minute private chat with Atiku.

The source said: “Wike narrated how Atiku told him that he had discussed with Governors Udom Emmanuel of Akwa Ibom State and Delta’s Okowa to make them realise that he was not disposed to picking either of them, but that they would be accommodated in the scheme of things.

“The Rivers Governor went ahead to say that Atiku had, during their private discussion, offered him the vice presidential ticket, but that he told the PDP flag bearer that he needed time to consult with his team.”

This claim was confirmed by another PDP source close to the Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom.

The source, who is one of the aides of the Benue governor, said Wike had called his principal, shortly after the meeting with Atiku and had informed Ortom that Atiku had offered him the vice presidential ticket.

“I was with my principal when Governor Wike called to break the news.

“My principal had asked him what his response was, to which he responded that he asked Atiku to give him some time to consult.

“There and then, my principal encouraged him to accept the offer”, the governor’s aide said.

About two weeks after, Wike, in company with three other PDP governors, was said to have visited Atiku at his Abuja residence to update him on development since their last meeting.

“At that meeting in Atiku’s house, Wike told the former vice president that he had made the necessary consultations and was ready to accept his offer”.

However, Atiku changed his plans at the last minute by picking Okowa instead.

A party source said some conservative Northern elements in the party had prevailed on Atiku to drop Wike for Okowa.

The source, who spoke under a condition of anonymity, said it was the same conservative Northern elements who prevailed on the Sokoto State Governor, Aminu Tambuwal, to step down for Atiku during the PDP presidential primaries.

Accordingly to the party source, an influential retired Army General from one of the states in the Northwest and a former governor from another state in the same zone were the arrowheads of the anti-Wike group.

Facts have emerged on why the Labour Party, LP, presidential candidate for the 2023 general election, Mr. Peter Obi, kept former Vice President Alhaji Atiku Abubakar in the dark concerning his defection from Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

The PDP presidential standard bearer had, during an interaction with Arise Television crew, disclosed that Obi, who was his running mate in the 2019 presidential poll, did not inform him of his intention of leaving PDP till after three days he joined the Labour Party, LP.

The former Vice President also described Obi’s presidential candidacy on the LP platform as a mere social media sensation, stressing that only a miracle would make him win the presidential contest since LP has no visible nationwide structure to achieve electoral victory.

However, an investigation by The Guardian revealed that the LP presidential contender and former Anambra State governor purposely kept his defection plans away from his former principal after sources informed him that Atiku did not want a Southeast candidate as his running mate.

It could be recalled that the former Vice President’s decision to nominate the former Anambra State governor as his running mate in 2018 sparked controversies as major political actors from the Southeast, particularly the Southeast Governors’ Forum, kicked against it.

A close ally of the LP presidential candidate, who was a central player during Obi’s administration in Anambra State confided in The Guardian that during the buildup to the PDP presidential primary, they got intelligence that Atiku had planted a candidate in one of the thriving young parties.

The source added that Atiku saw the potency in the younger parties, going by the experience of the Young Peoples Party (YPP) in 2019, which made a good impression at the poll.

The source said, “You know Kingsley Moghalu did not win in 2019, but he made a serious impact on the youth population. The former Vice President believed that with such a young charismatic politician in the race it would create some problems for him.

“Even before the PDP national convention, Atiku was sure that he would pick the party’s presidential ticket again. That was why he talked about the right of the first refusal and called the bluff of northern elders that wanted to broker consensus.

“It became clear to us that since PDP was not forthcoming on the issue of zoning the Presidency to the South, as well as the bond among incumbent state governors, we needed to explore other options and ensure that we did not give Atiku any impression about our plans.”

He said arrangements for Obi to move over to LP had been concluded long before June 24, when he wrote his resignation letter to the Agulu 2 ward of PDP, which was also transmitted to the party’s national headquarters immediately.

He stated: “With the resignation officially sealed, Obi now travelled to the United Kingdom briefly. After the visit to 10 Downing Street, he came back and declared officially for LP on June 27. It was actually on July 1, that His Excellency informed the former Vice President that he had moved on, that is it. By that time the LP presidential primary had been concluded.”

Rivers State Governor, Chief Nyesom Wike
Rivers State Governor, Chief Nyesom Wike

Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State will commence the inauguration of some projects on Monday for which he has reportedly refused to invite key stakeholders in his party, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

Wike on Sunday received Governor Dave Umahi of Ebonyi State in respect of the 2023 election.

Umahi, a member of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), paid a visit to Wike in Port Harcourt for “a partisan discussion”.

With regard to some projects executed by his administration whose official commissioning will start today (Monday), Wike allegedly extended unusual invitations to the leaders of the APC.

This development is said to have made top members of the PDP apprehensive, as they are bewildered about why Wike is towing the path he chose.

Wike had last week met with Atiku Abubakar, presidential candidate of the PDP, to iron out their differences.

The face-to-face meeting behind closed doors at the private residence of Prof. Jerry Gana, a PDP Board of Trustees member (BoT), pledged to resolve their differences within seven days.

She explained that she was bullied by her uncle not to inform anyone, but she summoned courage to tell her aunt who took her to the hospital to abort the pregnancy that resulted from the rape.

“I got raped by my uncle when I was 15 years and I had to go to my grandmother’s place in Ibadan. I didn’t tell my mother, but had to tell one of my aunties.

“They had to take me to a hospital in Ibadan, the pregnancy was about five months already because I didn’t tell anyone and it was so hard for me.

“My mum was so disappointed and hurt. She could not take it,” Lawani said.

“The person was so close to my family which is why I am so strict with my kids. I don’t trust anyone, even your brothers, sisters, anybody can betray you.

“Nobody can come close to my children anyhow, you can’t trust anyone, even your brothers and sisters.

“I lost my innocence at a very young age and I hated my mum so much for it because she wasn’t there for me; she was always at work. It traumatised me but now I understand,” she said.

The Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, has announced Chika Edoziem as its new acting leader in the absence of its substantive leader, Nnamdi Kanu.

The group made the announcement on Sunday, August 7, 2022, in a statement issued by its Media and Publicity Secretary Emma Powerful.

Chika Edoziem, IPOB
Chika Edoziem, acting leader of Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB)

Powerful stated that Edoziem would be acting pending when Kanu will be released from the custody of the Department of State Services facility in Abuja.

The pro-Biafra group denied forming any government in exile, asking the public to disregard such information, describing it as fake news.

“For the avoidance of doubt, the Directorate of State of the Indigenous People of Biafra (DOS) headed by Mazi Chika Edoziem is at the helm of affairs of the Biafra movement. Whenever our leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, comes out, he hands over the IPOB structure back to him.

“The DOS gives letters to our people for asylum, and every government in the world accepts them and grants asylum to such asylum seekers, and they communicate with IPOB. There is no other government more than that,” Powerful said.

The group maintained that IPOB had legitimate and well-established institutions and a well-structured administrative hierarchy that oversaw the day-to-day running of its affairs.

IPOB claimed that all diplomatic missions and countries knew about the Biafra agitation and that they had been communicating with the group.

The group’s statement in part read, “We, the global movement and noble family of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) under Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, wish to reiterate once again to Biafrans, friends of Biafra and lovers of freedom across the globe that IPOB led by Mazi Nnamdi Okwuchukwu Kanu has not set up any Government In Exile (GIE).

“We, therefore, dissociate ourselves completely from the purported government in exile.

“IPOB has legitimate and well-established Institutions and a well-structured administrative hierarchy that oversees the day-to-day running of Biafra affairs.

“Already, all diplomatic missions and countries of the world know about the Biafra agitation and they communicate with IPOB as the responsible authority that oversees the affairs of the Biafran people, be it nationally or internationally.”

The Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, has alleged the connivance of security agencies with the Ebubeagu militia group in the killing of innocent people in Imo State in order to blackmail the group.

It described the Nigeria Police and Ebubeagu as “partners in crime.”

IPOB was also described as “laughable” and “fabricated” the statement alleging that its members were responsible for the gruesome murder of eight northerners living in Orogwe, a suburb community in Owerri, Imo State.

In a statement on Saturday, August 6, 2022, the group’s Media and Publicity Secretary, Emma Powerful, said the IPOB would never attack any peaceful individual or group of people doing legitimate businesses in its territory.

The statement read in part, “Our attention has been drawn to the laughable, disgraceful, unguarded and fabricated statement alleging that IPOB members were responsible for the gruesome murder of eight northern people living in Orogwe, a suburb community in Owerri, Imo State.

“It is unfortunate that the Federal Government and her security agencies would descend so low to collude with the Ebubeagu militia that was created by Imo State government to kill innocent people just to blackmail the IPOB.

“Is the government not tired of this wicked propaganda and blood-shedding of innocent Imo civilians in the East just to blackmail and demonise the IPOB?

“The IPOB has not and will never attack any peaceful individual or group of people doing legitimate business or trading in our territory. We are only after those criminals and bandits they brought into our territory masquerading as Fulani herdsmen who kidnap for ransom, rape our women and murder our farmers in our forests and bushes.

“The IPOB will never succumb to pressure and blackmail from pursuing those terrorists masquerading as herdsmen in our bushes and forests. The ESN has been dealing with and dislodging those sponsored terrorists and will continue to do so until they vacate our forest and bushes.

“Therefore, Nigeria Police and its sister security agencies operating in Biafraland should leave IPOB alone to sanitise our territory of terrorists. The IPOB has several times said that we have nothing against Hausa people living peacefully and doing their legitimate businesses. Anybody linking IPOB to the recently attack in Imo State is doing that to demonise and blackmail the IPOB.”

The statement stated that the IPOB did not harm or kill anyone in Imo State on Monday because it is peaceful and have not indulged in enforcing non-existent Monday sit-at-home order. It said the group was focused on rescuing Biafrans from damnable Nigeria Republic.

“Biafrans should be aware that Nigeria’s compromised security agencies are complicit in the numerous kidnappings for ransom and killing of innocent citizens in the East, which they maliciously blame on the IPOB and ESN. They are doing all these barbaric activities to place the IPOB in bad light to our people and the international community,” the statement added.
