The All Progressives Congress (APC) has confirmed Yahaya Bello as its candidate for the December 5 supplementary election for the governorship of Kogi State. Bello is the replacement for Abubakar Audu who dies a day after the November 22 elections which was declared inconclusive by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
The party retained with James Abiodun Faleke as the running mate. Faleke vowed to challenge the decision of the party. Earlier, he declared himself the replacement for the late Audu and announced Mohammed Audu, son of the former governor of Kogi as his substantive running mate.

The choice of Bello was announced at the APC headquarters in Abuja on Monday, November 30, 3015.
Bello came second in the August 28 primary, which produced Audu as the APC flagbearer who is facing an incumbent, Captain Idris Wada of the People’s Democractic Party (APC).
