Assembly Election: How Atiku, 5 APC Governors Connived To ‘Cut Tinubu To Size’

Must read

Indications have emerged showing that asides the massive support accorded to Senator Bukola Saraki and Yakubu Dogara, by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) which saw them emerge as Senate President and Speaker of House of Representatives respectively, the pair also received the backing of some All Progressives Congress (APC) bigwigs who used the assembly election to cut down the touted “political wizadry” of APC national leader, Bola Tinubu.

According to reports, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar in connivance with the G5 Governors – 5 PDP  Governors who decamped to the APC – used their massive influence to stop Ahmed Lawan and Femi Gbajabiamila, the APC candidates annointed for the posts.

Investigations also show that the former Governor of Sokoto State, Aliyu Wammako used his successor, Aminu Tambuwal – the immediate past Speaker of the House of Representatives – to drum support for Dogara. It would be recalled that shortly after the national assembly election, Atiku congratulated the victorious pair, defying the stance of the APC, who threatened to deal with the renegade pair for “treachery”. Upon his election, Saraki’s made his first visit, going to pay homage to Atiku, reportedly for a job well done.
