Buhari Appoints General Boroh As Co-Ordinator Niger Delta Amnesty Programme

President Muhammadu Buhari has on Tuesday, July 28, 2015, appointed Brigadier-General Paul Boroh (Rtd.) as the Co-ordinator of the Amnesty Programme for former Niger Delta militants.

According to a statement released to the media by the Special Adviser to President Buhari on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, General Boroh’s appointment is from immediate effect.

Boroh takes over the responsibilities of Chief Kingsley Kuku who was Special Advisor to President Goodluck Jonathan on Niger Delta and co-ordinator of the Amnesty Programme.

The appointment of a new Coordinator for the Amnesty Programme is expected to lead to the speedy resolution of recent hitches in its implementation such as the non-payment of outstanding allowances to ex-militants, according to Adesina.

Boroh was on September 24, 2010, moved from Army Headquarters (AHQ) Department of Administration to Jaji as the new Commandant, Nigerian Army Peace Keeping Centre, his last assignment before he was retired from the Nigerian Army.
