A year 2000 video going viral has exposed the plan of former Governor of Zamfara State, Alhaji Sani Ahmed, who said his plan and that of all Muslims in the country is to Islamize Nigeria, insisting that all parts of the country should be under the principle and regulation of the sharia law.

According to him, Sharia laws which are replicated from the Arab world have helped to reduce criminality in the Northern states. Hence, the introduction of sharia law to Nigeria would be a welcome development.

When asked that his utterances could ignite trouble from the Christian community, Ahmed said it can’t cause trouble as he is entitled to his opinion.

“My ambition and that of all Muslims in Nigeria is that Nigeria should be made a Sharia state. We want sharia implemented in the country. Christians cannot be angry as I am entitled to my opinion. We want all Nigerians to be under Sharia law,” the video that has recently gone viral showed Sani saying.

The video captured him during his visit to the NYSC orientation camp in Zamfara State, where he paid more preference to religion of the North, rather than nationalism, a phenomenon he knew rules the National Youth Service Corps as an agency of national unity and integration.

At the end of his speech where he opened his speech with the Islamic greeting, the corps members were agitated saying rather preaching unity, peace and oneness, the erstwhile governor preached Sharia to them in the camp.

The video (at the bottom of this article) showed him saying that his model of Sharia is after Saudi Arabia, noting that Saudi Arabia is the number one country practicing Sharia in the world. He added that Saudi Arabia is their role model in practicing sharia according to Muslim laws.

The video also showed Muslim youths being tutored on the implementation of sharia law under the supervision of Sani Ahmed. Most of the children who were receiving lectures in the video were less than 12 years. The female children were shown wearing hijab all over with the tenderness on their faces.

In the video, he said crime was higher prior to the introduction of sharia in the North, maintaining that the introduction of Sharia in the North has reduced crime in the state. He said 99.90 percent of crime has been reduced due to the introduction of sharia laws.

Zamfara State capital, Gusau, in the video is a replica of full sharia enclave. Women were seen sitting sadly inside vehicles as a result of sharia laws. It also shows Zamfara schools segregated by sex not by religion.

Sani was shown saying sharia was not responsible for the crisis that happened in Kaduna during the presidency of Olusegun Obasanjo. According to him, before the introduction of sharia, there were communal and political crisis which were orchestrated by people of different interests made up of both Christians and Muslims.

The video showed the deadly impact of sharia in the city of Kaduna as explosions ripped buildings and churches, sending ordinary people and worshippers scampering for safety, while the most unlucky ones were killed as the buildings went up in flames following the impact of the explosions.

The video showed naked buildings which had been ripped off by explosions. Although the video showed a bishop saying the Kaduna destruction was not religious but political, it however, depicted a struggle between Christians and Muslims in the sharia dominated states of the North.

A special part of the video 19-minute video showed an explosion which occurred when a church was having service, the explosion shook the building, many people were seen running, buildings burnt, some persons dead and vehicles burnt.
