Apostle Johnson Suleman, founder of Omega Fire and Miracles Ministries has on Sunday, March 13, 2016 issued a cease or die order to Governor Nasir El Rufai over his controversial bill which seeks to restrict preaching activities in Kaduna State.
In a video, obtained by The Trent, Suleman is seen speaking on the pulpit of his mega-church in Auchi, Edo State. The cleric says that the bill proposed by El Rufai is against the constitution of Nigeria and it infringes on religious freedom in Nigeria.
“Many times I have read in the papers how he [Nasir El Rufai] abused Jesus and Christians came after him and he said that they are joking, ‘Nothing can happen’,” Suleman told an elated congregation. “I am talking to you, Kaduna Governor.”
“Listen, I am not against sanitizing a state. But you say people should get [a] licence for preaching; it is not applicable in Nigeria.
“Even a herbalist does not get a license for practicing herbalism. When you say license for preaching, then you are standing against the constitution that says freedom of worship.
“I have no problem, we can test powers now,” he declared as his congregation erupted in emotion.
“There are certain laws that cannot happen in this country. Not when Nigeria is under God. If need be, over this matter, heaven will intervene.
“I am saying this specifically to the executive governor of Kaduna, revoke this law or die!,” he said as the video ends. Watch the 1.50 minute video ends.
On Thursday, March 10, 2016, Suleman took to microblogging website, Twitter, to send a stern message to Governor Nasir El Rufai of Kaduna State with a set of tweets.
El Rufai has recently put forward a bill which would regulate religious preachings in the state. Many observers say that the bill is targeted at criminalising Christian preaching in the state.
Apostle Johnson Suleman is founder of Omega Fire and Miracles Ministries, a fast growing prophetic ministry based in Auchi in Edo State. He is a motivational and faith preacher who is popularly known for his prophetic declarations on Nigerian issues, newsmakers, and nations.
