The general superintendent of the Deeper Christian Life Ministries, Pastor William Kumuyi, admonished Christians in politics and positions of authority to be God-fearing and also lead by example.
The clergyman made the call on Saturday, September 27, 2014 as he completed his three-day pastoral visit to Makurdi, Benue state. He called on them to use their positions to positive impact on the people in order to check the decay in the society.
He stressed that Christians must exhibit high sense of commitment to whichever field of life they find themselves.
Kumuyi said: “If you are called to be a politician, you must be seen to use whichever position you find yourself to impact on the people positively. We have no choice but to do those things that would be pleasant in the sight of God who is the lifter of all men.
“I know that despite the challenges we are going through, things are going to work for the better; these challenges are certainly not peculiar to any state or nation but we will come out of it stronger and better.”
On the lingering state of insecurity and insurgency in parts of the country, Pastor Kumuyi said the law would certainly take its course on the matter. He urged Nigerians to re-orientate and re-educate themselves and turn to God.
Kumuyi addad: “Our God is ever ready to hear us and also heal our land; that is why we must all turn to God at this time of our history.”
