Fulani Herdsmen Kill 20, Raze Houses In Nasarawa

A group of gunmen suspected to be Fulani herdsmen have reportedly unleashed a coordinated attacks on several communities in the southern area of Nasarawa State, killing 20 persons and burning no fewer than 80 houses.

The attack took place at Gidan Gambo, Abaagu, Atabela, Assakio, Assahangwa, Adamu Agyo and other neighbouring communities on Sunday, November 2, 2014 at about 5:30 pm.

Other areas affected in the fresh attack also included Ikposogye, Lega Obi, Tudun Adabu, Mararaba Obi, Agwatashi, Deddere, Agwan Mamman, Agwan Hamidu, Agwan Sule, Ome and Adamu Agyo Fadama Buna.

Also affected in the previous attacks by the suspected Fulani insurgents were Company, Wayo, Arikiya, Agwan Usman, Angwan Gindiri, Angwan Ali, killing over 100 people.

Reports stated that the police had been deployed to these areas to restore tranquillity and order.

However a comprehensive report of what transpired is yet to be released by the law enforcement agency in the state.
