Grim footage has emerged showing a soldier threatening to carve Isis fighters up like kebabs – before doing exactly that with the dead body of an enemy.
Abu Azrael, known as the ‘Angel of Death’ was filmed carving flesh from the hanging body of a burned Isis man.
It is thought the Isis fighter had been burned alive and then hung from an electricity pylon.
Before carving off the dead man’s flesh, Azrael, also known as Ayyub al-Rubaie, , said to the camera: ‘ISIS this will be your fate, we will cut you like shawarma.’
Shawarma refers to a method of preparing meat by hanging it on a vertical spit, grilling it and shaving it.
Azrael has been referred to as the ‘Iraqi Rambo’, but critics have hit out at him for stooping to Isis’ level.
The video is thought to have been shot in the city of Baiji, where there has been heavy fighting between Isis and the Iraqi army.
