Keshi’s Wife Buried Amidst Tears In Benin

The wife of former Super Eagles coach, Stephen Keshi, was buried amidst tears in Benin, Edo State.

Mrs Kate Keshi died in the United Stated in December 2015 after battling with cancer.

She was finally committed to mother earth in her husband’s residence in Ugbor, GRA, Benin City after a requiem mass at St. Paul’s Catholic Church, Benin City.

Among dignitaries who graced the occasion were the Technical Director of the Super Eagles, Shuaibu Amodu, Former Super Eagles Coach, Austin Eguavoen and officials of the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF.

In his tribute, the Chairman, Edo Football Association, Frank Ilaboya, who represented the NFF prayed God to grant Stephen Keshi and the family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.

He said: “We pray God to strengthen coach Keshi to move on with his career.”

In his tribute, former Super Eagles Head Coach, Shuaibu Amodu, described the deceased as ‘a sister, friend and mother.’

Bereaved Keshi described his late wife as `a unique woman and ‘a wife that every man would love to have’.

“I am honoured that people took out of their busy time to come out and give their last respect to my wife. Most of them have been with my wife, they knew her and probably that’s why they are here.

“I thank them and every other person, the press, and all Nigerians who were in prayers with my family. I am grateful,” he added.
