A building located at HFB way, Dolphin Estate in Ikoyi collapsed after an exploision was heard in the early hours of 7:15am on Saturday, April 18, 2015.

The house where the explosion happened belongs to the Kogi Deputy Governor, Mr. Yomi Awoniyi and among the 6 injured include his wife, Tokunbo Awoniyi, Daily Trust report.

The National Emergency Management Agency’s spokesman Ibrahim Farinloye says the explosion was connected to a gas leakage, adding that three persons were said to be inside the building when the incidence occured

Farinloye said that the three occupant of the building and a driver who was reportedly washing a vehicle outside the building have been evacuated to a St. Maria Hospital Yaba, while the anti-bomb unit of the Nigeria Police and the Police disaster management unit have commenced work to unravel the cause of the explosion.

The Anti-Bomb squad division of the Lagos State Police is still investigating on the cause of this disaster.
