Local Vigilante Group Kills 100 Boko Haram Members In Adamawa

A local vigilante group has reportedly killed about 100 and arrested 17 members of Boko Haram insurgent group after carrying out raids in Madagali, Michika and Mubi areas of Adamawa State.

According to Today NG, the raids were carried out on Sunday, august 16, 2015 also saw the vigilante members rescue over 280 women and children.

The vigilante members are part of a group of about 200 youths recently recruited and trained by Emmanuel Tsamdu, a member of the Adamawa State House of Assembly.

According to the report, three local hunters were injured during the exchange of gunfire and are currently being treated at the Madagali General Hospital.

When contacted for confirmation, the Public Relations Officer of the Adamawa State Police Command, ASP Othman Abubakar, said he had heard of the operation but was waiting for confirmation from the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in the area.
